Plot

Lorelai and Max make their final wedding preparations. Since Max's apartment is being painted, he spends the weekend at Lorelai and Rory's house. Lorelai and Max go on a double date with Rory and Dean, and Dean gives Max advice on how to handle the Gilmore girls. But the evening ends badly when Max and Lorelai end up arguing about Max's role in the family. Lorelai confesses that she hasn't thought at all about how they will combine their lives once they are married.

For Lorelai's bachelorette party, she, Rory, Sookie, Miss Patty, and Michel go to a drag club called The Queen Victoria. As a surprise, Michel has also invited Emily. Emily talks about her wedding to Richard, and how nervous and excited she was. After her story, Sookie calls Jackson, Rory texts Dean, and Lorelai sneaks off to call Christopher. When she gets back to the table, she lies that she was talking to Max.

The next day, Lorelai and Max have another fight after Lorelai forgets to give Max a set of keys. He accuses her of being selfish. Also, Rory asks Lorelai why she called Christopher at her bachelorette party, and asks if she's happy with Max.

Luke delivers a chuppah that he made for her. Since she told him about her engagement, he has been making lots of negative comments about marriage, and she asks if he really thinks all of the things he said. He allows that sometimes marriage can be good.

Lorelai runs into Rory's room and announces that they are going on a road trip. When Rory reminds her about her wedding, Lorelai cries and says that she can't marry Max. The episode ends with them driving out of Stars Hollow at dawn.
